    More flight options and affordable prices needed in Sydney

    A daily flight to Toronto and Montreal is the only commercial air traffic leaving Sydney making for a quiet terminal and grounds throughout the day. “I think it's disappointing to see that we are down to one airline and one flight per day,” said Jenna Lahey, CEO of Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce.

    Will Losing Commercial Flights Kill Investment in Cape Breton?

    Last week, Air Canada officially stopped offering its five-day-a-week route between Sydney and Toronto, leaving the J.A Douglas McCurdy Sydney Airport without a single commercial flight. Kathleen Yurchesyn, the CEO of the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce, explains: This is catastrophic for our region, for our economy, for our community, for our tourism and cultural sectors.     The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.
