  • Legacy Fund

  • The ACC invites PACs to submit proposals/projects seeking monetary support from the Legacy Fund.  These funds are dedicated to initiatives that bring value to our communities and drive economic growth and innovation within Atlantic Canada. Proposals should clearly align with the ACC's mission and mandate to foster a thriving, competitive business environment across the region, and support our mandate of promoting sustainable development, enhancing business networks, and strengthening the local economy. To be considered, submissions must include how the project will contribute to the social and economic vitality of the specific province and address local needs.

    Criteria

    • proposals must support the ACC's mandate/mission 
    • proposals are to be shared /communicated to the relevant PAC for consideration and recommendation

    The Process

    • proposals will be or evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the board of directors
    • proposals are brought to the CEO / Finance/ Board of Directors for final approval

    Proposals may be shared with ACC committees if deemed necessary.

  • Business Truth & Reconciliation Business Truth & Reconciliation

    The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.

     

    Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
