    Antigonish Chamber Of Commerce Executive Director Brings Back Lots From Information And Contact From Atlantic Chamber Of Commerce Conference

    Antigonish Chamber of Commerce executive director Lauren Kaiser recently returned from a conference featuring chambers from across the Atlantic provinces. She said it was a chance for Atlantic chamber members to meet in person, go over best practices, and get some insight on what is going on with other chambers. She said attendees were also able to attend the president’s lunch for the Charlottetown Chamber.

    Antigonish By Choice hoping to offer a community boost

    The Antigonish Chamber of Commerce, St. Francis Xavier University and the St. Francis Xavier Alumni Association came together to kick start the latest part of the Antigonish by Choice campaign. This resulted in many happy people receiving gift cards which can be used at local businesses.

    The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.

     

    Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.
