  • Love for Local New Brunswick Announces ‘Electric Summer Social Tour’

    • Share:
In an effort to celebrate local businesses and organizations across all 104 municipalities in the province, the organizers of the Love for Local – New Brunswick program have announced the “Electric Summer Social Tour” that will kick off on June 23 and is expected to run continuously into the fall.

The Electric Summer Social Tour will feature two dynamic and bilingual New Brunswickers touring the province aboard an electric vehicle to meet local business owners, their clients, and the people behind beloved N.B.-based non-profit organizations, events, attractions, and more.

With the ambitious goal of 15 posts (each recognizing a different local business, organization, event, or tourism attraction) a day on all Love For Local social media platforms, this initiative will also introduce TikTok to the mix, where people will be able to interact with the ambassadors and suggest stops on the journey.

The goal is to create local influencers of our two travelling ambassadors and invite the entire province along on their local summer.

The electric vehicle (EV) is generously provided by Audi Moncton and the content will also highlight the electric vehicle infrastructure already in place across NB as well as educate the public about attainability, accessibility of routes and charging stations, savings, and environmental benefits.

Audi brand is driving the evolution from gas-powered vehicles to battery-powered, electric vehicles.

“We need to raise awareness that EV’s are the future and the future starts now,” Scott Killen, General Manager Audi Moncton. “We believe in supporting local. Now more than ever, we need to draw attention to all the talented people and amazing businesses in our province. We need to get behind them and support them to help make sure N.B.’s economy remains strong and continues to grow.”

This Electric Summer Social campaign is made a reality thanks to generous N.B.-based organizations including Énergie NB Power (E-charge Network), The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton, Conseil Économique du Nouveau-Brunswick, BrainWorks, Audi Moncton, Explore NB, Barterpay New Brunswick, Hansen Signs, and a collection of economic development and private sector supporters.

‘’Love For Local was truly one of those rare no-brainer opportunities for BarterPay NB!” says Jason Warren, BarterPay New Brunswick. “After all, we are a small business whose very point, purpose, and “why” is to help other small businesses grow by creating efficiencies and monetizing their idle assets and unsold downtime. We’re passionate about the local business community and its network of awesome entrepreneurs and owners.”

Huddle is a media partner for the campaign and will check in with the ambassadors on the road throughout the summer.

We are also happy to be part of another ongoing “Love for Local” campaign, publishing profiles for the NB365 series. In collaboration with award-winning photographer Denis Duquette, the campaign is highlighting 365 New Brunswick entrepreneurs, businesses, or organizations. That’s one portrait a day over the course of a year and it represents an investment of $100,000 from Love For Local – New Brunswick.

Love for Local – New Brunswick has been supporting N.B.-based businesses of all sizes since March of last year, an idea that originated with the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton, which was looking to mount a widespread community support campaign.
