MONTAGUE, P.E.I. — The Eastern P.E.I. Chamber of Commerce is hosting a public meeting to discuss disruptions in ferry service between P.E.I. and Nova Scotia on July 18.

The meeting will address recent cancellations of the ferry crossing between Wood Island, P.E.I. and Caribou, N.S.

Chamber president Bill Aitken said unscheduled stoppages to the ferry service have affected local businesses and travellers.

"A reliable transportation link to the mainland is fundamental to the economic stability and sustained growth of eastern P.E.I. businesses and the broader community," said Aitken.

The meeting is open to chamber members, business owners and the general public.
