FREDERICTON, NB – The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce has hit the 1,000-member mark with the addition of Shoppers Drug Mart Kings Place (Quinn Pharmacy Ltd).

“Getting to 1,000 members has been a goal of our chamber and I want to thank the staff for all their hard work that got us there,” said Karen Grant, chamber president. “A lot of the credit also goes to our other members for their engagement and word-of-mouth testimonials to businesses throughout the city. Growing the organization is important as it allows us to maintain and expand our service offerings to members, which in turn benefits the community through economic growth.” Shoppers Drug Mart Kings Place (Quinn Pharmacy Ltd.) joined the chamber in late December.

“We were so pleased to learn that we are the Fredericton chamber’s 1,000th member – it is a remarkable achievement for the organization to achieve that milestone in a community of our size,” said Ryan Quinn, Owner of Shoppers Drug Mart Kings Place (Quinn Pharmacy Ltd.). “It shows not only the quality of our local chamber, but also that the businesses in Fredericton are supportive of their work and engaged in helping our community grow and I am proud to be part of that effort.”

More than 70% of member businesses have fewer than 20 employees. The chamber’s services include advocacy, events, networking, professional development and tangible benefits such as a group health insurance plan.

“We are proud to represent such a large portion of the business community in the Fredericton Region and I think what is less well known is that we have nearly 100 not-for-profit organizations as members as well,” said chamber CEO Krista Ross. “Our vision is Stronger Community Through Business Prosperity and our ability to connect businesses and community groups is an obvious example of that.”

The Fredericton chamber is the largest in New Brunswick and 2nd largest in Atlantic Canada.
