Business Truth & Reconciliation
The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce takes proactive steps to promote reconciliation and respect for Indigenous rights within the corporate sector. In response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Call to Action 92, the Chamber urges its members to embrace the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a guiding framework.
Recognizing the importance of education, the Chamber encourages businesses to provide comprehensive training for management and staff on the history of Indigenous peoples, including the legacy of residential schools, Indigenous rights, and Aboriginal-Crown relations. Emphasizing intercultural competency, conflict resolution, and anti-racism, these efforts aim to foster a more inclusive and harmonious corporate environment rooted in mutual understanding and respect.

The Atlantic Chamber of Commerce (ACC) is the largest business association in Atlantic Canada, representing 90 chambers of commerce and boards of trade, and 16,000+ businesses of every size, and from every sector and region of the 4 Atlantic provinces.
With a rich history that spans back to 1896, the ACC is an established voice in the business community and has helped shape government public policy and decision-making to empower Atlantic businesses. In this post-pandemic era, now more than ever, the provincial association is committed to engaging with its members, listening to their concerns and evolving needs and responding through bold and proactive advocacy and the delivery of a curated suite of programs, services and business resources.
